What does IHHT stand for?

IHHT stands for Intermittent Hypoxic-Hyperoxic Training. It's the clinical name for the protocol that alternates short intervals of low-oxygen ('mountain') air with high-oxygen ('recovery') air through a comfortable mask. We also call it Responsive Oxygen Training or Altitude Therapy on this site.

What is Altitude Therapy?

Altitude Therapy, clinically known as IHHT (Intermittent Hypoxic-Hyperoxic Training) or Responsive Oxygen Training (Altitude Therapy / IHHT), is a non-invasive session that alternates low-oxygen ('mountain air') and high-oxygen air through a comfortable mask. It trains your cells' mitochondria to use oxygen more efficiently, the same adaptation elite athletes seek at altitude. Based on 2019 Nobel Prize research on cellular oxygen sensing.

Is it safe? Are there side effects?

Excellent safety profile when used as directed. Non-invasive and drug-free. Heart rate and SpO₂ are monitored in real-time. Mild temporary effects like slight fatigue may occur as the body adapts. Consult a healthcare provider before starting.

How is it different from hyperbaric (HBOT)?

What Mito2 is
